What a trip! From the accommodations to the golf courses to our transportation, everything was top-notch. I wish the weather had been more cooperative but all-in-all it was a fantastic experience. Our group worked with John over the course of a year to put together a trip with 10 people of varying skill levels across 4 courses in Ireland along with some time in Dublin. Accommodating that number of people with different interests and abilities is tough but John’s knowledge and experience was key to making the trip a massive success! Whether it was the experienced guys or the newbies, we all agreed that it was a special trip. Much of that has to do with the execution, which was in the hands of Mick, our driver. He got us door to door without issues. The courses were awesome and the accommodations were great. We are looking forward to using them again on our next trip!

In the initial consultation he listened to what we were hoping to accomplish in types of courses, accommodations and transportation. From start to finish his execution was flawless arranging every small detail for our trip. Our private transportation was better than expected and our driver Ken went out of his way to make sure all of our needs were met. John even arrived at the airport to make sure we were squared away and he made three check-ins at the courses were playing.

We couldn’t be more pleased with the level of service Concierge Golf provided. We are already looking to our next trip them in a couple of years.

He handled hotel, golf, dinner reservations, and when we needed to move something around, he responded quickly every time. These multi day trips can get a little overwhelming, but John made it simple and awesome. As an added bonus, we met for a pint in Lahinch and I really enjoyed meeting John. He’s a fine lad. We used John for our bucket list trip to Ireland and we played the great links courses such as: Lahinch, Ballybunion, Tralee, Waterville, Dooks, Killarney, Old Head and Cork Club to finish.  All the accommodations selected from the hotel in Lahinch to the B&B in Kinsale were all excellent. Great people at all of them.  The courses John choose for us were great and when we turned up everything was really well organised. John also sorted rental clubs for us we all had PXG clubs that were great. The only complaint I would have is John did nothing about the scoring he needs to work on this, as he missed way too many putts. LOL. We met John for lunch at Cork GC which was a great touch. Throughout the trip he would check in and nothing was too much trouble. Well worth the money and I couldn’t recommend highly enough.

While it has been a couple of months since my traveling partners (North American based) and I returned from our September golf week in Ireland, we cannot stop sharing the memories. John curated an extremely well-balanced week including five rounds at a different course each day while leaving enough personal time for ‘cultural’ pursuits including dinners, pubs, a distillery tour and free time to explore Dublin. The golf was challenging but not overwhelming for our level of play. As a golf pro, John had an innate sense of what would work best for our group of four and overdelivered on his selections. As an example, no one in our group traveled with clubs. Instead, John hand-delivered an excellent set of PXG clubs fitted individually. Services at each stop were outstanding with Henry, our guide and driver providing keen historical insights, local flavor and good dining suggestions that added immeasurably to our enjoyment. I would not hesitate to recommend John and Concierge Golf and look forward to planning our next overseas golf adventure with him. For next time, a lesson with John to begin the trip might help an individual (or group), regardless of skill level to get better prepared for the Irish links, especially on a first visit.

I can not say enough about the service we received from John at Concierge Golf. We started planning our trip in 2020 just a month before the pandemic. Our trip was organized and cancelled two times over the last 2 years. John was there with us the whole time making all the necessary arrangements. So after waiting almost 3 years to go to St. Andrew’s we finally got there in August 2022. The trip was even better than our original plan back in 2020. John procured us better accommodations, ideal tee times, and ground transportation and did all the balloting for us to get on the Old Course. He answered his phone every time we called with a question, but since he did such an amazing job we hardly had to call him. If you are even thinking of taking a trip to Scotland or Ireland for golf, please please call Concierge Golf of Ireland.

“I took my family to Ireland in September of 2018. We used Concierge Golf (John Dooley) to arrange everything. Our group was complicated in that it had golfers and non-golfers. He accommodated both! That is, he helped us with our hotel (Trump Doonbeg; which was fabulous……..and i am not a Trump fan!) and he helped us with arranging golf, caddies and transportation. Moreover, he also picked up at the airport and took back as well. Further, my wife and 2 daughters did not play golf and he set up a separate driver and coach (van) for sight seeing.

He went out of his way to come and check on us during the trip making a 2 hour trip (each way) just to check on us. A little about me and my family so you can appreciate where i am coming from. I am the marathon golf dad that John references on his site tab Dooley Noted. I had to take a moment to write a review because it was such an amazing experience. Personally, I don’t write reviews very often, in fact, I don’t think if I’ve ever reviewed anyone or any business on google before. So that alone should tell you something.

John set us up with a spectacular itinerary ( he was quite concerned that we wouldn’t be able to handle it ) but i was insistent and he obliged quite well. He even went as far as asking some buddies to allow us to play with them at their member-guest tournament so that we could play courses that were closed to outsiders during a busy time on some of these courses.

Wow-what amazing people to allow us to play with them, made some great new friends too. Had an absolute blast. The top courses were Lahinch, Waterville, Tralee and especially Old Head Golf Links for scenery and fun. My favourite holes in order were 18 Old Head, Lahinch par 3 blind green (not sure which hole), Tralee 2, Ardglass 12 ( I think; the par 5 along the bay that I eagled ). John as an unexpected surprise also added a 45 min lesson complimentary after he played around with us at Cork Golf Club. Very good lesson and very kind of him. thank you for a wonderful trip John!! look forward to doing it again soon!

Dublin was a nice way to end our vacation to Ireland. We spent the first day walking around St Stephens Green and Merrion Square, took in the Whiskey Tour, and then found a few neat pubs (Staghead and O’Neils). Yesterday, we toured Kilmainham Prison and Trinity College, found some more neat pubs (Porterhouse Bar, Kehoe Bar) had a great steak dinner at FX Buckley, and ended the evening at O’Donohogues for a cleansing Irish whiskey. 

Today to left Dublin and are now sitting in the Toronto airport waiting for our flight to Winnipeg. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Ireland and wish to thank you again for helping make it happen. We wish you all the very best and hope that our paths will cross again sometime in the future.
